It's Bookmark management I want.īut I guess I'm going to be disappointed with this ever increasing trend in the IT industry towards "The Customer wants what the Customer gets" attitude. I don't need any more to confuse matters. I already have any number of password managers/storers/generators/cloud storers that I can use. If anyone knows of a replacement that can do the above then you will have a friend for life. To me, losing Xmarks is like losing my Swiss Army knife. Xmarks came to my rescue by having de-duplication routines that deleted several thousand duplicated bookmarks and those bloody RSS things in three easy steps. RSS feeds, something that I never use and still don't know what exactly they are, were the worst culprits. But when I added Google Chrome to my collection I messed around with my Bookmark files something rotten. Things were okay when all I had was Firefox and Safari. The thing I am going to miss most about Xmarks is its ability to search through all my Bookmarks and delete all the duplicates and a couple of other thing like duplicated bookmark folders. I made a clean backup of my bookmarks which took me a long time to sort out after Firefox sync screwed them up multiple times. After searching for alternatives I found Eversync and I am going to give it a try to see how it goes. Looking in Mozilla's forum this seems to be quite common and even in Firefox 58, they admit they have no fix for it. I started getting duplicates upon duplicates every time I started up Firefox and even had some of my bookmarks disappear out of the blue. They offer no way to cleanup duplicates or invalid bookmarks, and when synching across multiple computers things can go horribly wrong. until today! Firefox sync is just horrible. I had been using Firefox sync for bookmarks for several months now since switching from Chrome. The closest alternative would be to have a folder full of URL shortcuts on the desktop, but bookmarks are just easier to use. There is no way to do our job without bookmarks unless we don't user a web browser at all. For those of us who perform our jobs at a computer desk, we MUST have bookmarks. Whoever thinks that is possible must have an incredible ability to memorize URLs. I would say there is no "moving on" from bookmarks. Hvilket tage nogle sted i computeren, hvis du har installeret tonsvis af ansøgning i dig computer, så har du meddelelse om, at din computer ganske få få langsom eller ikke virker hurtigt som før det kører.
